About the Event

English language aquisition is crucial to building a new life in America!  You can make a big difference by working with our refugee students as they study English.  Each class is tailor made to meet students where they are and give them the skills they need to move forward in their language learning.  Volunteers assist the classroom teacher by working one-on-one or leading small break out groups with students who need extra help mastering specific skills.  We ask our volunteers to commit to one class per week for a minimum of 6 weeks.  This class runs on Thursdays from 12:45 pm - 3:00pm.  We require a background check for this volunteer positions as well as encourage a training.  You can can sign up for the training here: https://www.helpinghabit.com/discover/9694.

We are following standard COVID protocols.  All students, volunteers, and teachers are required to wear masks during class time.

Please email anne@projectworthmore.org to get a background check or to ask any questions.
