Jeffco Eats is in need of a Volunteer School Liason.

Hours per week – Duties take about five hours a week and the majority are remote. Some meetings at Jeffco Eats and at schools.  We are a mobile food pantry for 24 schools in Jefferson County. This work will directly impact reducing childhood hunger.  Unpaid position.

Overview of volunteer work:

1.       Set up and gear up our 24 schools. Getting names and emails, meeting them, and signing them up for programs. (e.g., school panty items, snack boxes, weekly food totes)

2.       Weekly: Tell Operations Coordinator what school liaison want to order.  Contact the schools or have them contact you if they have changed what they signed up for.

3.       Use the school delivery and contact lists to track who gets what weekly.

4.       Communication using email, not text, to track data at Jeffco Eats.

5.       Receive cancellations or school closings and report to Operations Coordinator.

6.       Advise Schools of food safety and different menu types available – weekend food totes,    pantry foods, snack, fresh foods

7.       Receive school closings cancellations and keep Alex updated on those.

8.       School calendar master resource document, including late starts and advice operations.

9.       School year and Summer School are different programs with different calendars.

10.  Currently also serve five section 8 Metro West housing communities – upkeep program
