About the Event

English language acquisition is crucial to building a new life in America!  You can make a big difference by working with our refugee students as they study English.  Each class is tailor made to meet students where they are and give them the skills they need to move forward in their language learning.  Volunteers assist the classroom teacher by working one-on-one or leading small break out groups with students who need extra help mastering specific skills.  We ask our volunteers to commit to one class per week for a minimum of 6 weeks.  This class runs from 10:00 am - 11:30 am.  We require a background check for this volunteer position as well as encourage  training.

All volunteers are encouraged to attend a "Beyond Babble" training. Sign up for the two part training at this link:

We are following standard COVID protocols.  All volunteers and teachers are required to wear masks during class time.

Please email marlene@projectworthmore.org to get a background check or to ask any questions.
