Description

During this event, trained volunteers and agencies around the country survey people experiencing homelessness, in order to better understand homelessness in the winter in America. This year in Aurora, we are looking for 60 volunteers that will be split into teams of 2-4. These teams will be paired with experienced outreach professionals, who will patrol a predetermined section of Aurora in an effort to survey anyone camping outside. The survey will take place outside directly with individuals experiencing homelessness and takes roughly 5-10 minutes to complete. The survey's can be completed using your smart phone. Training is required for all new participants. Training will be offered in Aurora at the Aurora Municipal Center on Tuesday, January 21, and Thursday, January 23, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.  For other training days and locations, please check out the list of additional training opportunities throughout the Denver Metro area listed on the Additional Materials link below.  On the day of the event, please meet at the Aurora Municipal Center, on the 2nd floor, in the cafeteria, at 6:00 pm.
