The Need:
More than 30,000 children in Colorado’s Jefferson County receive subsidized meals at school
but sometimes find the cupboard bare at home. Half the children sometimes go hungry at some
locations where we deliver food.
Who we are:
A mobile food pantry for 24 schools and section 8 apartments in Jefferson County weekly year-
round, including in the summer.
What we do:
We Pack 600-700 bags from 9-11 as a group at 1390 Brentwood Street, Lakewood, CO 80214
We engage in a variety of tasks on Fridays that all contribute to us feeding hungry individuals:
place up to 10 items of weekend food totes (300- 500 bags) to be distributed to schools and
apartments, help move food that we are packing from pallets; open food packaging; break down
boxes, cleaning, and food in preparation.
