Summary: In working towards helping A Precious Child meet its overall objective of providing resources and opportunities for children to succeed, A Precious Child’s Client Support Volunteer serves as a key member of the Empowerment Center Department and are responsible for the day-to-day interactions and satisfaction of our clients. The Client Support Volunteer supports the team by conducting level of care 1 client intakes, managing the high volume of incoming calls in our Empowerment Center, scheduling and confirming appointments with clients and Agency Partners, and helping greet clients.    

Responsibilities:

  • Greet families and other visitors with dignity and a smile upon arrival
  • Help families with required intake paperwork
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments and conduct confirmation calls
  • Check in families and complete required data entry within the client management system
  • Review the shopping guidelines with families and provide a brief overview of the items available in the Resource Center

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English and Spanish language preferred but not required
  • Enthusiasm and passion for A Precious Child’s mission and vision
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ethics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of individuals that may be facing stressful or crisis situations
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, dependable and an ability to work effectively with coworkers, volunteers and interns
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to enter data into a computer quickly and accurately
  • Interest or experience in Case Management, Child/Family Advocacy, and Client Services is a huge plus

Time Commitment:

  • Shifts are available Monday-Friday between 9:00AM-3:00PM
  • Volunteers will be onsite about 12 hours per month, committing to at least one 2-4 hour shift per week

Training & Supervision:

  • Complete Volunteer Orientation with the Volunteer Services Team
  • Complete Volunteer Waiver Form and sign Non-Disclosure Agreement
  • Training will be provided by the Empowerment Center Manager
